About leaving crowdy Barcelona for a day

This weekend I decided to leave big Barcelona and visit some calm places. Barcelona is full of people, Tourists, Foreigners, Spaniard…people everywhere! I love that big town feeling but this weekend I wanted to discover new paces, that are not that crowded. Come on and get to know Sitges! In this post I will take you to beautiful Sitges, show you the streets, the beach, where to eat and where to shop. Enjoy!

Let me tell you some random basics about the town. Well, Sitges is about 35 kilometers southwest of Barcelona. For 8,00 € bidirectional (you have to choose the option “ida y vuelta”) you can go there by train from the central station of Barcelona (platform 9-10). 20 minutes and there you are – in a small seaside town outside of Barcelona. Sitges’ economy was mostly based on the production of wine until the economic boom of the 1960s, after which it became a tourist resort. If you go there, you will understand why it is so popular to tourists: It has a wonderful laid-back feeling and you can enjoy yourself and your trip perfectly. Of course the beach and the “city center” are filled by tourists but the small streets and restaurants are not that crowded. In my opinion, Sitges is a the perfect place to relax. Enjoy your vacation with your family or your darling- and if you need some action, drive to Barcelona! Sitges is mostly known for Carneval and Film Festival. Here you can visit the website and inform yourself. I will take you to Sitges by using pictures – Enjoy!
