Best pool view over Barcelona

Last week I wanted to visit the famous Montjuic castle and discovered something even more beautiful here in Barcelona. It‘s an outdoor swimming and diving pool with one of the best pool views of the world! Swimming and chilling over whole Barcelona is just amazing. I felt so free, relaxed and beautiful…especially with my Maison Scotch maxiskirt aka. dress.

When you want to visit the Montjuic castle, you have to climb up a hill and I can tell you one thing about it: this is hell of exhausting! Imagine that: It is hot (maybe more than 30 degree) and you are walking up the hill for about 1 hour (OK, maybe I overdraw that a bit)! Anyway, I was lazy that day and instead of visiting the castle I decided to check out the rooftop swimming pool Piscina Municipal. Actually there are two public outdoor swimming pools at the Montjuic hill: Piscina Municipal and  Piscines Bernat Picornell. The Bernat Picornell swimming pool opened 1970 and upgraded for the Olympic Games in 1992. Piscina Municipal (video) has a swimming and a diving pool and was built 1992 for the olympic diving events. The pool was designed for competition  only so it is appareled very basic. Don’t wonder: There are no sun-beds or chairs for sunbathing so you better bring your own towel to lie on! However this pool has a stunning view over Barcelona and was even used as a location at Kylie Minogues music video “Slow”. Since I have been there, it is one of my favorite Barcelona spots. I love the feeling standing above the city, turning around and jumping into the cold water. Very refreshing at that heat.

Piscina Municipal is open only July and August and the entry fee is 6,00 €
